Great source of plant-based protein, chickpeas – which have earned their place among the so-called superfoods – are magnificently versatile.
Very satisfying, hearty and light at the same time, chickpeas (also called garbanzos) are one of the most perfect foods. Key ingredient in hummus, the glory of chickpeas doesn’t stop there. High in protein and fiber, naturally gluten-free, they are a very filling food that may help lower appetite and reduce calorie intake at meal, which makes them a perfect plant-based protein in replacement for meat or fish for vegans and vegetarians.
Whether you use them in the shape of the bean or in flour, you will find endless possibilities to cook them, in a way that you can never get tired of them!
