To celebrate First Sunday of Advent I’ve baked my easy chocolate brioche buns for breakfast with friends.

These beauties are soft, pillowy, loaded with mini chocolate chips AND the easiest brioche buns you can possibly make.

This time, I kneaded the dough by hand as there was no stand mixer in the little cabin we rented for the weekend. I used fresh yeast, and the result was just perfect.

I've been willing to share the recipe with you for the last couple of days, but life got busy, with a video recipe shooting prep and so on. But here I am today, right on time for Thanksgiving.

You need just a few basic ingredients for this recipe: egg yolks, pumpkin puree leftovers, heavy cream, sugar, vanilla and warm spices. I'm pretty sure you don't even need to run to the near-by grocery store to get the ingredients.

Currently eating... homemade roasted balsamic Brussels sprouts for lunch. I just came back from a long bike ride and all I wanted was a healthy, seasonal and nourishing meal to fuel my body.

I quickly went to the grocery store and noticed the overload of seasonal produce for Thanksgiving. I went for Brussels sprouts, got home, and smiled at my choice.
.
Thing is, I used to hate Brussels sprouts. This until I learned how to cook them the American way. In France we just sauté them with oil/butter, salt and pepper. But here in the US, we roast them in the oven, often coated with balsamic and maple syrup. This brings a subtle caramelization and make them so much more interesting!

If you are still looking for the perfect side dish to add on your Thanksgiving table, this goat cheese polenta with balsamic Brussels sprouts might be the one. You can also serve them with crumbled feta/goat cheese, cranberries and pecans!
