Venue tout droit du sud du pays et remontant \u00e0 l&#8217;\u00e9poque des \u00e9tats conf\u00e9d\u00e9r\u00e9s, cette sorte de scones \u00e0 l&#8217;am\u00e9ricaine se d\u00e9guste au sortir du four, coup\u00e9e en deux. Sur chaque moiti\u00e9, on d\u00e9pose alors une noix de beurre qui fond imm\u00e9diatement au contact de la chaleur.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c0 l&#8217;origine, ces biscuits se servent en accompagnement d&#8217;un plat sal\u00e9 traditionnel des \u00e9tats du sud des \u00c9tats-Unis, un peu \u00e0 la mani\u00e8re des petits pains. La recette \u00e9voluant avec le temps, on les retrouve aujourd&#8217;hui aussi en version sucr\u00e9e. Pour ce faire, il suffit d&#8217;ajouter un filet de miel ou un peu de confiture par-dessus, le tout formant un biscuit terriblement gourmand pour le petit d\u00e9jeuner. Pour ma part, j&#8217;ai choisi mon camp et c&#8217;est tout naturellement que j&#8217;ai opt\u00e9 pour la deuxi\u00e8me version. La diff\u00e9rence entre les deux repose notamment sur la pr\u00e9sence ou non d&#8217;un oeuf, qui apporte du moelleux \u00e0 la recette et que l&#8217;on retrouve presque syst\u00e9matiquement dans des shortcakes (biscuits en version sucr\u00e9e) et aussi ici dans cette version universelle. Avec juste 5 ingr\u00e9dients et un minimum de travail de la p\u00e2te, vous obtiendrez de jolis biscuits \u00e0 tous les coups. Afin de vous guider, j&#8217;ai r\u00e9alis\u00e9 un guide \u00e9tape par \u00e9tape.<\/p>\n<p>Il suffit dans un premier temps de m\u00e9langer tous les ingr\u00e9dients secs avant d&#8217;y incorporer les ingr\u00e9dients humides bien froids \u00e0 l&#8217;aide d&#8217;une spatule en bois. La p\u00e2te obtenue est alors un peu collante, ce qui est parfaitement normal. Et comme pour une recette de scones classique, moins on travaille la p\u00e2te, mieux c&#8217;est. Il suffit en effet de verser une cuill\u00e8re \u00e0 soupe de jus de citron frais ou de vinaigre de cidre dans le fond d&#8217;un verre mesureur avant de recouvrir de lait demi-\u00e9cr\u00e9m\u00e9 jusqu&#8217;\u00e0 la limite des 240 ml.
